Logan is set to embark on a new challenge in 2025, when he joins IDEC Sport Racing in the European Le Mans Series.
The Floridian will enter the world of endurance racing, where he’ll have to combine strategy and teamwork with blistering speed.
But what exactly is the European Le Mans Series, and how does it compare to other forms of motorsport?
What is the European Le Mans Series?
The European Le Mans Series (ELMS) is an endurance racing championship that has been running for over two decades.
It draws inspiration from the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, with teams and drivers competing in multi-hour races across some of Europe’s most famous circuits.
The series is designed to test both speed and durability, making it a true challenge for drivers and engineers alike.
Race format and categories
Unlike traditional sprint races, ELMS events last for four hours, requiring teams to balance pace with reliability.
Each team typically has three drivers who share driving duties, with regulations mandating changes of personnel throughout the race.
The series features three main categories:
LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) – The top tier of ELMS, featuring high-performance, closed-cockpit prototype cars.
LMP3 (Le Mans Prototype 3) – A junior prototype class that serves as a gateway for drivers looking to progress to LMP2 and beyond.
LMGT3 (Le Mans Grand Touring 3) – A category for production-based GT cars, offering a mix of speed and endurance.
IDEC Sport competes in the LMP2 category, where Logan will be racing next season.
The 2025 calendar
Next year’s ELMS campaign kicks off with testing in early April, before a six-race season unfolds across some of Europe’s most iconic tracks:
Barcelona, Spain – 6th AprilLe Castellet, France – 4th MayImola, Italy – 6th JulySpa-Francorchamps, Belgium – 24th AugustSilverstone, UK – 14th SeptemberPortimão, Portugal – 18th October
IDEC Sport’s history in ELMS
IDEC Sport Racing has been competing in ELMS since 2016, establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with in endurance racing.
The French outfit claimed the LMP2 championship in 2019, securing victories at Silverstone and in the Algarve en route to the title.
More recently, they triumphed at Monza in 2022 and earned podium finishes in Barcelona and at Spa-Francorchamps across the following two campaigns.
Last season the team finished in sixth place — but with Logan joining their ranks, they will be aiming to build on that performance in 2025.
Where Logan comes in
Known for his single-seater background, Logan's entry into endurance racing marks an exciting shift in his career.
It’s not his first foray into this form of motorsport, however.
The 24-year-old briefly competed in ELMS back in 2021 — registering fourth and seventh place finishes at the Red Bull Ring and Monza, respectively, while driving for Racing Team Turkey.
Unlike Formula 1, where drivers compete solo, ELMS requires strong collaboration with teammates, strategic pit stops and adaptability to ever-changing race conditions.
With just under four months until the season opener in Catalonia, Logan is busy preparing for the unique demands of multi-hour endurance racing.
And his fans will be eagerly watching on, when he finally gets behind the wheel in Barcelona.
